Materials You’ll Need
- Colored construction paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue stick or school glue
- Green and yellow pipe cleaners
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Trace Your Hand
Place your hand on a piece of colored construction paper and use a pencil to trace around it. This will form the petals of your flower. If you’re making multiple flowers, trace your hand several times on different colored papers for variety.
Step 2: Cut Out the Handprint
Carefully cut along the traced lines using scissors. If young kids are doing this craft, an adult may need to help with cutting.

Step 3: Create the Flower
Arrange the handprint cutouts in a circular shape with the fingers pointing outward like flower petals. Use glue to attach them together at the base.

Step 4: Make the Stem
Take a green pipe cleaner and roll yellow pipe cleaner on the top as shown in picture below.

Step 5: Add a Center
Pass this pipe cleaner into the centre of the flower and the flowers are ready.
